Outdoor recreation experiment in Kabaty Forest @ Pau!and
This is the first experiment I took in the course outdoor recreation.
We always use questionnaire for our research in Taiwan when doing experiment of outdoor recreation, but in Poland it's quite different.
Let's go with the professor Sklodowski Jerek, and see what will it be in Kabaty Forest!
This is the entrance of Kabaty Forest
Mom! This is what you would like to live in, right?
There were Kindergartners having a field trip in the forest.
With the sunshine penetrate into the forest, It's full of energy and brightness.
But I went to the wrong meeting point. The professor was waiting for me at the West side of the forest. XD
So I went through the edge of the forest.
There is an artificial bird nest. It's just the same as we have in Taiwan.
Finally I found the professor.
It's really comfortable to walk in such a pine and Acer forest.
Because of the history of Poland, there are also something like monument in the forest.
The arbor in the forest is quite small than we have in Taiwan.
Autumn is the most beautiful season in Poland, cause the leaves turn it's collar. But it will suddenly passed.
We prepare some equipment. You can see pressure meter and soil hydrometer.
The teacher assistant is showing how to use the pressure meter.
The professor shows the way and where to measure.
We pull a tape measure crossing the trail.
Then measure each point with a wavy motion.
Also measure Left and Right 5 meters for Controlling group.
It's hard to decide where will be the ledge of the trail.
But we can decide it by the branches on the ground(If it is broken by human or not)
We recorded the Length, Depth, soil pressure, and moisture of the soil.
There is a Dung Beetle on the ground! WOW!!
We can see that there are lots of Oak seedlings
It's great to do Shinrin-yoku in the forest.
We took a group photo at last. It's quite fun:)
This experiment is to measure the impact by visitors.
We know that tourist walk through the trail may cause impact of the forest.
But how to describe it? We can prove it by the experiment we did today:)
